Caretaker / Handyman

Swallowfield Parish Council are looking for a self-motivated, friendly person to replace our Caretaker who is retiring.

Reporting to the Clerk, key responsibilities of the role are:

  • Ensure that the hall is well presented and clean at all times.
  • Provide basic DIY, building maintenance and basic gardening as required.
  • Ensure that the hall’s facilities are prepared appropriately for the respective bookings.
  • Deal with issues relating to Health and Safety appropriately.
  • Help to foster and maintain good links with all groups using the hall.

Hours: Up to 25 hrs per week, Mon-Fri, 1 hr early am, 4 hrs am/pm (to be agreed), occasional evening/weekend work

Salary: up to £24,200 (pro-rated for hours worked) depending on experience, a workplace pension is provided.
