The Russell Players

This page is an introduction to our main web site in order to give you an idea of what we do and encourage you to join us.

The Russell Players were founded in November 1977 by a group of Swallowfield parishioners. Our membership covers the entire spectrum of ages from 10 to 70 years old and still contains some of the founder members. As a group we are based in Swallowfield Parish Hall and can be found in the Hall on most Wednesday and Sunday evening engaged in some activity or another. If we are not rehearsing for our next production then we could be play reading or even holding auditions for a future production. You might even find those members with DIY skills working on the scenery.
We have an active social calendar with an annual Summer Barbecue, trips to local amateur and professional theatres and other ad-hoc events, including the recently introduced Russell Ramble for those looking to keep fit.

We would welcome any new members, of any age, who wish to be involved in some or all of the various aspects of amateur dramatics.
