Swallowfield Art Group was formed following an art demonstration at the Swallowfield’s Women's Institute. We started with a morning class of 14 people (all ladies) but found an interest from several men, so we started another class to include them. Our times were changed because we had to move venues. We now have 21 members split into two classes, Mondays 2.00 to 4.00 at Riseley Hall and Friday at 2.00 to 4.00 in the Davies Room at Swallowfield.

We are a group who enjoys its painting and we have a professional artist who joins us fortnightly. He helps to encourage us to experiment in whichever media we prefer: watercolour, oils or acrylics. We are hoping to produce a calendar this year, which will be a positive target to work towards.
