Can We Help Your Business To Be More Successful?

The Parish Council is always looking for ways it can help local businesses, both big and small, to thrive and continue to be part of our local community. To that end, we have helped to set up a Business Forum that meets periodically to network, share knowledge and look for ways to encourage the success of local businesses through better awareness and publicity of their activities.

Meetings are held quarterly in Swallowfield parish Hall and are of 60 – 75 minutes duration. The agenda for meetings are set by the members and include speakers with business experience, representatives from Wokingham Borough Council with responsibility for helping businesses and Thames Valley Police to talk about crime prevention for businesses. The group also looks for way to provide work experience or seasonal working for members of the community. Work is also underway to create a business directory listing local companies and the services they are able to offer.

A LinkedIn Group has been created “Swallowfield Parish Business Forum” so that communication between members can happen outside of the meetings and some businesses might prefer this type of group rather than attending.

If you are a local business, big or small, and would like to find out more about the Business Forum, or putting your name on the local business directory, please contact Celia Adams, Swallowfield Parish Clerk (see contacts page)
